5 out of 5 stars Almost perfect...   June 17, 2010

I received this case a few days ago. It's very sturdy and has convenient features; I'm quite clumsy at times, and the hand strap in the back has made it very easy to hold with confidence. The leather is very nice and definitely not cheap looking, while the microfiber interior makes it very comfortable to hold. The edges also appear to be slightly reinforced, and would likely protect the iPad from the occasional fall (of course, I'm not about to test that theory!).

A note on magnets:
I use this with the iPad WiFi + 3G. Another reviewer mentioned problems with the magnet inside, which is used to hold the integrated stand, and recommended that this case be used only with the WiFi version of the iPad. First, a clarification: both iPads have a built-in compass, so if using the compass is extremely important to you, don't buy this case. While the magnet does interfere with the magnetometer, it does NOT interfere with the AGPS, data transmission, or cause damage to the iPad or any of its components. The iPad uses flash memory, not a traditional magnetic hard drive, so your data will be perfectly safe.

5 out of 5 stars Really great! I have had 4 people order these after seeing mine.   June 25, 2010

I purchased this item many weeks ago and have actually started to carry my ipad to meetings with me now because it looks much more professional. Everyone that sees it asks where I got it at and when I tell them they immediately go out and order one for themselves.

The case is outstanding, it is designed to use the ipad in landscape mode, you can type on it, watch movies, etc using the built in stand and it puts it at just the right angle.

The construction is strong, doesn't feel like a cheap case like others I have purchased. This one is by far my favorite.

There is one flaw however. The tongue that slips in the top behind the ipad to secure it can get a little lose. The iPad won't fall out but you may have to push it back down every now and then. To resolve this just go to any hardware type store and by some Velcro, attach one piece to the tongue flap and one to the ipad case and when the ipad is in you secure the tongue via Velcro instead of just pressure. This may sound like the Velcro is visible, it is NOT visible at all once the ipad is in the case. I'll submit a customer photo to show what it looks like to help clarify.

But other then this one minor issue this case has been perfect and everyone that sees me using it asks where I got it from. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Just what I needed   June 24, 2010

I'm using the ecovue on a wifi iPad.

This case is just perfect for what I needed: a sturdy cover that I could open like a book and keep propped up in different ways.

Build quality: the construction of this case is solid. The iPad stays in place, but does slide slightly when transporting it, but doesn't slide out all the way by accident or move too much around while using it. The only time the slight sliding around of the case bothers me is when the orientation-lock button gets covered a bit. Apart from that, case holds the iPad well and all ports are easily accessible. The outside is a solid water-resistant black leather (I think, though it is surprisingly uniform for leather), and the inside is a soft felted leather.

Using the iPad: One of the best benefits of the case is that the inside felted leather doesn't let the iPad slide on your lap or in your hands when using it. Not having to manically grip the iPad tightly when using it is heaven-sent. Some people comment that it makes the iPad heavier, which I suppose is true. However, not having to grip and hold onto the naked iPad so tightly makes me not notice any extra weight - if anything, it makes the iPad more comfortable to hold. On other sites, people have noted that they wish the felted leather covering the iPad's bezels was black instead of gray, but, in my experience, you will not notice the case while using the iPad.

As a stand: In landscape mode, the front cover folds back as the stand. The friction of the cover's edge keeps it from sliding on most surfaces, but it will move a bit on glass or a surface you have freshly wiped down (like my kitchen counters). However, it has yet to fall completely and even on slick surfaces, I can find a position in which the cover stand does not slide. For propping it up just a bit, there is an inside flap-stand. This smaller stand works really well on a surface and even on my lap, though the latter is not an ideal position. The smaller stand doesn't open up randomly because it is secured magnetically.

The hand-band: The inside band that is meant for holding the iPad in one hand puzzles me. You really don't need it unless you are waving the iPad around and showing it to a room full of people. I rather wish they had used that area to hold business cards and the like.

All in all, this is soooo much better than the slip-in case I was using earlier, and is more solid and professional looking than the Apple case which I played with in the Apple store. Thank you marware for keeping your front logo discreetly hidden in a corner -- another reason I don't want to use the Apple case is the obnoxious Apple logo right on front.

5 out of 5 stars Works well for me   June 20, 2010

I'm very happy with this case. It looks great & feels good to hold. The fold out stand works well for typing or viewing. I find that the iPad slips a little inside but all ports are easily accessible. The case makes the Pad a bit thick, but it fits nicely into a carry-on for traveling.

5 out of 5 stars Much better than apple iPad case   June 21, 2010

This case provides good support and feels very natural to hold. It is very high quality. A much better alternative to the Apple iPad case for about the same price. My only issue is that the fold down clasp rally only works on a hard surface- so using on carpet or your bed could be difficult. The style is very classy, and the hand strap and elastic band to hold it closed are both pluses.
